The Bible shows a Trauma-Informed Approach to Soul Healing

Seven Characteristics

SAFETY - A Foundation of Physical, Emotional and Spiritual feeling of Safety

TRUSTWORTHINESS from TRANSPARENCY - All care from leaders and peers is given in a manner that creates trust through personal transparency and vulnerability

PEER SUPPORT - A peer-to-peer model of care instead of a hierarchical, professional-to-client model.

COLLABORATION and MUTUALITY – There is a sense of being “in this together”, that we are not alone, and we are to be helped and help others

EMPOWERMENT in VOICE and CHOICE – A great emphasis is on encouraging people to hear their own “inner voice” and to empower them to take personal responsibility for their choices to be healed and build strength for future challenges

SENSITIVITY to a person’s CULTURE and HISTORY

SALUTOGENIC, NOT PATHOGENIC – Which is a wellness approach instead of a disease approach.

The Trauma-Informed perspective is the way God works to sanctify us fully, setting us apart and making us holy as we serve Him
